Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk

 

Job description:

As the Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk, you will complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. Duties + responsibilities include:

  • Charging expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.

  • Paying vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

  • Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents.

  • Posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

  • Updating receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.

  • Accomplishing accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed

Qualifications:

We are a young and rapidly growing full service structural steel construction firm. As a Cost Accountant, you must have strong background in cost accounting preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment. Here are our preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years an accounting clerk role at a construction firm

  • Proven track record of excellence in the duties + responsibilities of the position (with references)

  • An associates degree in accounting, or other related field of study

  • Proficiency working in enterprise level accounting systems
