Cost Accountant
Job description:
Performing monthly closings, maintenance of accounting files, and preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, and financial analyses, etc.
This individual may be asked to assist with ad-hoc projects and general office support tasks when necessary.
Handle and process all aspects of construction payables, including coding, processing contract award work sheets and maintenance of the job cost chart of accounts.
Process contractors payment applications for monthly billings
Assist in the preparation of company financial reporting.
Perform monthly close and related journal entries.
Monthly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding.
Monitor fixed asset activity in detail.
Qualifications:
We are a young and rapidly growing full service structural steel construction firm. As a Cost Accountant, you must have strong background in cost accounting preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment. Here are our preferred qualifications:
5 years an accounting/cost accounting role at a construction firm
Proven track record of excellence in the duties + responsibilities of the position (with references)
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or other related field of study
Proficiency working in enterprise level accounting systems
